Properties

White to pale yellow, cryst powder; sweetish taste. mp 144-146°. Sparingly sol in cold, freely in hot water, alcohol, ether. The solns in alcohol or ether and particularly in glycerol exhibit an amethyst fluorescence.

Therapeutic Category (Veterinary)

The cadmium salt has been used as an ascaricide in swine.
