Properties

Crystals, rapidly becoming brown, mp 170-174°; sublimes. One gram dissolves in 50 ml cold water, 23 ml alcohol; freely soluble in ether, very slightly in benzene. Keep tightly closed and protected from light.

Properties

Crystals readily becoming gray on exposure to light. Freely sol in water or alcohol.

Use

Manuf azo and sulfur dyes; dyeing furs and hair. Hydrochloride used in dyeing fur, hair, leather, etc.
