Crystals, mp 122-123°. Sol in 40 parts cold water, freely in hot water, alcohol, ether, amyl alcohol; slightly in benzene, very slightly in petr ether. LD50 i.p. in mice: 4.5 mg/20g (Koelzer, Giesen).

Dye intermediate, manuf p-aminosalicylic acid.
