Green glistening crystals or dark green powder. Sol in water (blue soln); sparingly sol in alc. Absorption max: 648-655 nm (3 ml of a soln of 50 mg in 250 ml H2O dil to 200 ml; read in a Beckman spectrophotometer 1 cm cell).
