Yellow crystals, mp 208-209°. [α]D20 -76.6° (c = 1.4 in methanol). uv max (methanol): 349, 258 nm (log ε 4.31, 4.30). Sol in hot water, hot alcohol, and hot acetone; practically insol in cold water, chloroform, ether.
