Properties
Leaflets from ethyl acetate + petr ether, mp 59°. Sol in water,
alc, acetone, ethyl acetate, propylene glycol, sorbitol solns, glycerol,
ether, CCl4. pH of aq solns 7.2.Use
Cationic quaternary ammonium surfactant germicide
and fungicide. Used in leather processing, textile dyeing. A mildew
preventive in silicone-based water repellents. Compatible with many
nonionic detergents. Active in moderately alkaline solns.
