Colorless or slightly yellow, very corrosive liquid,

Keep tightly closed. When used for the prepn of sulfate
esters, the common solvent is pyridine. Other solvents are liquid

Manuf sulfone compds, saccharin. As chlorosulfonating
and condensing agent in organic syntheses.
