Properties

Liq, bp0.2 25°. Amine odor. Lighter than water. Strongly alkaline. Sol in water, but aq solns prepd in the cold become turbid on heating; miscible with alc, ether. Dec easily forming mesityl oxide and NH3. Decompn is prone to take place in aq solns or during distillation.
