Properties
Yellow oil. Pungent odor. Very volatile. Explosive.
Distillation, even under reduced pressure,
is dangerous. mp -22°. d417.6 1.0852. bp5 42°; bp12 45°; bp88 85-86°; bp720 140-141°. nD17.6 1.4588. Slightly sol in water. Neutral reaction. Volatile with
steam, ether, and benzene vapors. Miscible with alcohol, benzene,
ligroin, ether. Explodes on contact with concd H2SO4.
