Prepn by heating in a closed tube 1-naphthylamine and methyl iodide in methyl alcohol: Landshoff, Ber. 11, 643 (1878); by heating 1-naphthylamine with dimethyl sulfate in sodium hydroxide in presence of pyridine: Germuth, J.
