Properties

Needles from cyclohexane, mp 96-98°. bp3 118-122°. Shows no optical activity. nD21.5 1.4441 (20% in propylene glycol). Soly at 25° in water 0.25%, ethanol 35.0%, hexane 2.0%, sesame oil 0.7%, 1,2-propylene glycol 22%. Lowers the surface tension in satd aq soln at 22° by 21%. Partition coefficient (oil/water): 1.48.
