Occurs in nature as the minerals goethite [α-FeO(OH)], lepidocrocite [γ-FeO(OH)], and limonite [FeO(OH).nH2O]. Other known allomorphic forms: β-FeO(OH); δ-FeO(OH). The hydroxide Fe(OH)3 is not known.
