Pale yellow, odorless, cryst powder. d 2.28. Dec at 150-160° on heating
in air. Slightly sol in water; sol in dil mineral acids.Use
As a photographic developer for silver bromide-gelatin
plates; to impart a greenish-brown tint to optical glass (sunglasses,
windshields, railroad car windows), for decorative glassware; pigment
for plastics, paints, lacquers.
