Properties

Jet-black powder. mp 1360°; d 5.7. Easily oxidized by air. It is a strong base and readily absorbs CO2. Practically insol in water and alkalies. Readily sol in acids.

Use

In manuf of green, heat-absorbing glass; in steel manuf; in enamels; as catalyst.
