Hydrolyzed by water to OF2, O2, HF and HNO3. Sol in acetone. Conflagrates on contact with alcohol, ether, aniline. May be stored in vacuum-sealed glass ampuls cooled by liquid oxygen. Powerful oxidizing agent.
