Crystals from benzene, mp 146°. Sol in acetone, ether, chloroform. Forms a water-sol sodium salt. uv max (0.1N NaOH): 253, 305 nm; min 280 nm. LD50 in mice, rats (mg/kg): 800, ≈500 orally (Joulou).
