Prepd by reacting aniline hydrochloride and
dicyandiamide in water: Cohn, J. Prakt. Chem. [2] 84, 396; from aniline, dicyandiamide
in pyridine contg HCl: Jacobs, Jolles, GB 587907 (1947 to ICI).
Properties
Crystals from water or toluene. Sharp, somewhat
bitter taste. mp 144-146°. pK1 10.76, pK2 2.13. Freely sol
in water and in alcohol.Derivative
