Polymeric non-absorbed phosphate binder consisting of polyallylamine crosslinked with epichlorohydrin to form a hydrogel where 40% of the amines are protonated. Follows the general formula of (C3H7N.C3H5ClO)n. Binds dietary phosphate leading to increased fecal excretion, decreased absorption and decreased serum phosphorous levels. Prepd not claimed: S. R.
