Properties

White, odorless, cryst powder. d30 2.888. Soly in water (m): 0.210 at 0°, 0.270 at 25°. Insol in alcohol. The aq soln is practically neutral. Dielectric constant, ε 6.1.

Caution

Potential symptoms of overexposure by ingestion are burning pain in throat, esophagus, stomach; vomiting; weak, irregular pulse; hypotension, cardiovascular collapse; headache, muscle cramps, tetany, convulsions, stupor, coma; kidney damage.
