Properties
Yellowish-white, hygroscopic powder. Alliaceous,
garlic-like odor. Sol in water, alcohol. Insol in ether, benzene,
petr ether. Aq solns are alkaline to litmus. Solns dec on standing;
on boiling precipitation occurs. LD50 in mice (mg/kg): 149 i.p.; 78 i.v. (Christensen, Lee).Note
