Chemical structure

Properties

The pure compound as yellow crystals, mp 21°. d420 1.437. nD20 1.5661. Commercial product is a yellow oil, bp0.1 125°. Miscible in benzene, alcohol, ether. Practically insol in water. Hydrolyzed by alkali. LD50 in male, female rats (mg/kg): 880, 980 orally (Gaines).

Caution

Cholinesterase inhibitor. Symptoms similar to parathion.

Use

Insecticide.
