Properties

Prepd as a mixture of 20% of the free acid plus 80% of the sodium salt. Mixture contains about 40% Hg and is described as a white, bitter powder; very slightly sol in water or ether; sol in alcohol and dil solns of sodium hydroxide. An aq suspension is practically neutral. pH about 8.
