Properties

Crystals, mp 156-157.5°. Bitter taste. Readily sol in alcohol, chloroform. One gram dissolves in 580 ml water, in 10 ml ether, in 500 ml benzene, in 4000 ml carbon tetrachloride, in 17,500 ml petr ether.
