Description and references
Prepn starting with 2,3-dimercaptoquinoxaline
and thiophosgene: Sasse et al., US 3141886 (1964 to Bayer); DE 1088965 (1960); BE 580478 (1958). Toxicity study: Sasse, Hoefchen-Briefe 13, 197 (1960), C.A. 56, 1801h (1962).
Properties
Brownish to yellow powder, mp 180°. The commercial product begins to melt
at 165° but does not decompose until the temp exceeds 200°. Vapor
pressure 1 × 107 mm Hg at 20°. Practically insol in water.
Slightly sol in acetone, methanol, anhydr ethanol, petr ether, kerosene.
LD50 orally in
rats: 3.4 g/kg (Sasse).Use
Acaricide, fungicide.
