White or almost white crystals, soluble in water.

Assay. Dissolve 1.000 g in 100 mL of water. Titrate immediately with 0.1 M hydrochloric acid determining the end-point potentiometrically (2.2.20). Carry out a blank titration.

1 mL of 0.1 M hydrochloric acid is equivalent to 80.0 mg of C₁₆H₃₇NO,30H₂O.
