Potassium Iodate VS

KIO3 = 214.0

For a 0.05m solution Dissolve 10.70 g of potassium iodate in water and dilute to 1000.0 mL with the same solvent.

Standardisation. Dilute 15.0 mL of the potassium iodate solution to 40.0 mL with water. Add 1 g of potassium iodide and 5 mL of dilute sulfuric acid. Titrate with 0.1 M sodium thiosulfate, determining the end-point potentiometrically (2.2.20) or using 1 mL of starch solution, added towards the end of the titration, as indicator.

1 mL of 0.1 M sodium thiosulfate is equivalent to 3.567 mg of KIO3.
