Sulfuric Acid VS
Sulphuric Acid VS; H2SO4 = 98.08
For a 0.5m solution Dissolve 28 mL of sulfuric acid in water and dilute to 1000.0 mL with the same solvent.
Standardisation. Dissolve 0.950 g of trometamol in 50 mL of water. Titrate with the sulfuric acid solution, determining the end-point potentiometrically (2.2.20) or using 0.1 mL of methyl orange solution as indicator until the solution turns reddish-yellow.
1 mL of 0.5 M sulfuric acid is equivalent to 121.1 mg of C4H11NO3.
For a 0.05m solution Dilute 100 mL of 0.5m sulfuric acid VS to 1000 mL with water.
Ascertain its exact concentration as described above using 0.10 g of anhydrous sodium carbonate dissolved in 20 mL of water.
