Yellowish liquid; darkens on exposure to light and air, liberating iodine. Unpleasant, pungent odor. d12 1.848. bp 103°. nD21 1.5540. Practically insol in water. Miscible with alc, chloroform, ether. Flammable; corrosive. Keep tightly closed and protected from light.
