Mobile liquid. d420 0.8780. bp760 134°. nD20 1.4236 (Clark, Streight, loc. cit.); nD20 1.4195 (Mumford, Phillips, J. Chem. Soc. 1950, 75). Insol in water. Refluxing with 10% aq NaOH decomposes 1-chlorohexane to 1-hexanol.
