Light yellow solid. Darkens above 135°, softens with polymerization 150-160°; mp 240-250° (dec). In solution the compound is dark green. uv/vis max (absol. ethanol): 218, 304, 750nm (ε 1.5 × 104, 5.35 × 103, 37.6).
