Desiccated hypophysis. The cleaned, dried,
and powdered posterior lobe of pituitary body of domesticated animals
used for food by man. Contains both oxytocin and vasopressin, q.q.v.

Yellowish or grayish, amorphous powder; characteristic
odor. Partially sol in water. Keep well closed
