Clear, colorless, oily liq; bitter almond-like odor; burning taste. d420 1.167; mp -7°; bp 196-197°; nD20 1.5735. Slightly sol in water; sol in alc, ether. Gives an orange color with H2SO4. MLD in rats (mg/kg): 900-1000 s.c. (Binet).
