In the synthesis of surface-active agents, vulcanization
accelerators, pharmaceuticals. As emulsifying agent for cosmetic
creams and lotions, mineral oil and paraffin wax emulsions, leather
dressings, textile specialties, polishes, cleaning compds, so-called
soluble oils. Absorbent for acidic gases. Biological buffer. Acidimetric
standard.
