Pale yellow, bitter, oily liq. bp18 127-128°; bp16 124-126°; bp15 120-122°; bp11.5 113-116°; bp9 108-110°. Slightly sol in water; sol in alc, benzene, ether. Marketed in aq soln each 100 ml containing 10 g of the oil and 25 g sodium salicylate.
